
| The term UMF rated Active Manuka Honey describes the small proportion of manuka honey that has the additional, naturally occurring UMF property. To determine if this property is present in a batch of manuka honey, samples must be sent to the laboratory licensed for testing using the criteria laid down by the Honey Research Unit at the University of Waiko, New Zealand. A UMF level of 10 is the minimum to be endorsed by the Honey Research Unit as having special uses. Nature's Nectar UMF rated Active Manuka Honey meets the standards set by the Active Manuka Honey Industry and is entitled to use their official trade mark UMF. UMF 16.
