HealthAid DLPA-Phenylalanine. The amino acid phenylalanine is used by the body to create some of the most important chemicals that affect mood, depression and energy levels - neurotransmitters. When the supply of neurotransmitters is altered, the effects change we feel and think, and can lead to depression or chronic pain syndromes.

Phenylalanine in particular is associated with adrenaline and dopamine, two transmitters thought to play a role in depression. These phenylalanine based chemicals have a mild painkiller action and help to stimulate the way we feel, which is why they might benefit people with depression.

Phenylalanine (or DLPA-phenylalanine) acts as a source of natural painkiller for conditions such as whiplash, osteo-arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, lower back pain, migraines, leg and muscle cramps, post-operative pain and neuralgia.
