Bee Supplements
There are a number of bee by-products available on the market, including honey, royal jelly, bee pollen and bee propolis.
Royal jelly is a thick milky substance, which is made by the young nurse bee. Royal jelly contains a good source of B vitamins as well as acetylcholine (required for nerve transmission). Royal jelly, also contains enzymes, minerals and amino acids. It is commonly used for asthma, insomnia, stomach ulcers and to boost the immune system.
Bee pollen is a powderlike material, which is produced by the anthers of flowers and gathered by bees.
Like many bee products, it contains vitamins, minerals and enzymes which are good for the immune system. It also has anti-bacterial effects and has been used to combat fatigue, depression and colon disorders.
Bee propolis is a substance collected from bees, from plant which they combine with beeswax to form hives. It is an anti-bacterial supplement and is often taken as an aid against infections.
Good results have been reported for the use of propolis against inflammation of the mucous membranes of the mouth and throat.
