    Raspberry

Raspberry has traditionally been used during labour to relieve the pains of childbirth and facilitate labour. Raspberry Leaf has a reputation among herbalists as a uterine tonic and as such has been used historically for heavy or painful menstruation. There is little scientific evidence to date that supports this use.

Other complaints for which Raspberry leaves have been traditionally used include diarrhoea, sore throats and mouths and to wash wounds and ulcers. Raspberry leaves have been found to contain large amounts of tannins which are responsible for this remedy's astringent effect. Contact a health care professional if you wish to take Raspberry leaf during pregnancy.
